Milk Thistle Oil 250 ml
The bottle contains: 250 ml
Milk thistle is a plant used in the treatment of liver disorders. Its health-promoting properties were already known in antiquity, when people knew that milk thistle seeds – from which silymarin is obtained today – were good for health.
The liver's ability to regenerate its own tissue is most often inhibited by an excess of toxic compounds. Milk thistle has been found to stimulate intracellular processes thanks to the rapid and selective accumulation of its biochemically active compounds in the liver, until the concentration needed for therapeutic effects is reached.
The best-known extract obtained from milk thistle seeds today is silymarin. Silymarin is an antioxidant made up of many compounds. It has been confirmed to have an anti-inflammatory effect, to block the entry of toxins into liver cells and to support the regeneration of damaged cells.
Milk thistle oil can be taken directly, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 3 times a day 30 minutes before a meal, or added to food: on sandwiches instead of butter, to cottage cheese, eggs, salads, sauces, porridge, yoghurt, potatoes, vegetable or meat dishes. Milk thistle oil has a fairly distinctive taste with a herbal aroma. It is a healthy addition to the diet. Do not fry with it, as it would lose its properties. Use cold.
After pressing, it stays fresh and fit for consumption for:
- 4 months at room temperature, from the date of pressing.
Keeping the oil in the fridge significantly extends its shelf life. At the same time, the oil's other biochemical qualities keep their health-promoting properties when the product is stored at a lower temperature.
